Outfit post - say hello to my new furry little friend

It's been too long. Happy new year everyone! How did you celebrate the new year? I had a really nice dinner with my friends and then we went to a Gatsby party, that's one of my favorite themes. Anyways on to today's topic. I know I haven't posted anything outfit related in a million years and I haven't been shopping lately much either, but before new year's I found something that I've been meaning to buy for a long time. It's my new favorite accessory, a faux fur collar. It really goes with everything, for a day at the office or out having drinks with friends, it gives the outfit something extra chic. It really freshens up even a completely black ensemble. What do you think of this look? 

Onpas viime postauksesta taas aikaa. Hyvää uutta vuotta kaikille! Miten tuli juhlittua? Itse olin ystäväporukalla syömässä mukavassa (itselleni uudessa) italialaisessa trattoriassa jonka jälkeen suuntasimme Gatsby-bileisiin. Täytyy myöntää että kaikista teemoista rakastan varmaan sitä eniten kun saa oikein laittautua ja olla naisellinen. Housut eivät siis tulleet kysymykseenkään edes 20 asteen pakkasessa. Kaikkea sitä nainen kauneuden eteen tekee. Miksi vielä höpötän uudenvuoden juhlista? Päivän postaus liittyy osittain siihen. En ole sataan vuoteen tehnyt asupostausta joten ajattelin että nyt olisi sen aika. Shoppailut ovat muutenkin olleet viime aikoina vähän kortilla kiireiden ym. takia. Vieraillessani ystäväni luona Turussa joulun jälkeen löysin vihdoin jotakin mitä olen kauan metsästänyt, nimittäin tekokarvakaulurin. Se todellakin pelastaa asun kuin asun, oli sitten kyseessä päivä toimistolla, tapaaminen ystävän kanssa tai treffit, you name it. Se tuo asuun sen pienen lisän, très chic. Jopa kokomusta asu muuttuu hetkessä. Mitäs pidätte tästä tyylistä?

Louis Vuitton Christmas Catalogue

It's once again my favorite time of the year, Christmas. Carols playing, people running around town buying Christmas presents, but yet no snow. I still do dream of a white Christmas like Bing Crosby. To me it's all about being together with your loved ones and just being there and eating great Christmas food, I can't get enough of it. We don't really buy that many presents among my family anymore, we just enjoy being together. I did buy an early Christmas present to myself you could say from Louis Vuitton last month. I still haven't opened it of course but I will show it later. And yesterday I got the LV Christmas catalogue in the mail again. I could just look at it over and over I think Christmas catalogues are so nice (even if you don't plan to buy anything. How do you like this one? Check out last year's catalogue here. I actually like that one more. 

Paras aika vuodesta on taas, nimittäin joulu. Joululaulut soivat, ihmiset juoksevat kaupungilla ostamassa joululahjoja, mutta vielä ei ole lunta. Haaveilen vielä valkeasta joulusta kuten Bing Crosby (White Christmas) ja ennusteiden mukaan eteläänkin saataisiin lunta #happy. Itselle parasta joulussa on kun saan viettää aikaa yhdessä perheen kanssa ja vain olla ja syödä hyvää ruokaa, en saa koskaan kyllikseni jouluruuista ja aattona tuleekin ahmittua jopa pari lautasta. The Joulukalenterin sanoin "joulu on vain kerran vuodessa, isänpäivä sentään joka syksy". Lahjat eivät enää ole pääasia emmekä perheen kesken pahemmin edes osta lahjoja toisillemme enää vaan nautimme keskenään olosta. Tuntuu turhalta kun näkee niin monilla kuusenaluset täynnä paketteja kun lahjoja voi ostaa muutenkin. Tietenkin lapsille ne merkitsevät erityisen paljon, olihan itsellänikin lapsena aina paljon paketteja. Nyt saamme pääasiassa koko porukalla avata firman lahjoja joka on myös kivaa. Lahjoista pääsenkin päivän aiheeseen. Ostin viime kuussa itselleni vähän aikaisen joululahjan jos niin voi sanoa, Louis Vuittonilta. En ole vielä sitä tietenkään avannut mutta näytän sen myöhemmin. Eilen tuli postissa Vuittonin joulukatalogi joten tämä tuli mieleen. Rakastan joulukatalogeja, vaikka ei olisikaan tarvetta mitään ostaa. Mitä tykkäätte tästä? Katsokaa myös viime vuoden esite täältä, pidän itse siitä enemmän. 

Paris Fashion Week favorites

What girl doesn't love fashion weeks? That time of the year comes twice when the crème de la crème of fashion travel to New York, London, Milan and finally Paris to discover the latest designs from top designers. My personal favorite is Paris fashion week, which ends the fashion week round. I have certain favorites I always try to watch live. These fashion shows are not just about the clothes anymore, it's about who organizes the biggest spectacular of a show. This is where Chanel puts in big bucks to stand out. Another classic is also Louis Vuitton, where you can discover an obvious change in style now that Marc Jacobs isn't the head designer.

Did you have any favorites from the fashion weeks this autumn? I especially liked the cute handbags in the Louis Vuitton show, particularly the white Twist Lock bag with signature LV and chain handles in Epi leather. Beautiful isn't it? Reminds a bit of a Chanel purse with the chain. The bag gets its name from the "twist lock" meaning when you twist the L to the left to match the upstanding V the bag unlocks.  Genius and handy I'd say. This collection really shows that Nicholas Ghesquière has created something new and personal for the LV fashion house and is making his mark. I personally like where this is going.

Kuka tyttö ei rakastaisi muotiviikkoja? Se aika tulee kaksi kertaa vuodessa kun muodin kerma kokoontuu New Yorkiin, Lontooseen, Milanoon ja viimein Pariisiin ihastelemaan muotisuunnittelijoiden viimeisimpiä luomuksia. Itselläni lähimpänä sydäntä on Pariisin muotiviikko, johon muotiviikkokierros aina päättyy. Omat suosikkini pyrin katsomaan livenä. Nykyään muotinäytökset ovat paljon enemmän kuin pelkkiä vaatteita, niissä katsotaan kuka pistää parhaan shown pystyyn. Tässä lajissa Chanel satsaa isosti erottuakseen muista. Toinen klassinen suosikkini on Louis Vuitton, jossa selkeä tyylimuutos on havaittavissa Marc Jacobsin lähdön jälkeen.

Löytyikö teillä omia suosikkeja syksyn muotiviikoilta? Itse rakastuin Vuittonin näytöksen käsilaukkuihin ja erityisesti tuohon valkoiseen Twist laukkuun Epi nahalla jossa on LV-kirjaimet päällä. Muistuttaa hieman klassista Chanel laukkua ketjuineen. Laukun lukitus perustuu metallikirjaimien vääntämiseen (twisting). L-kirjain käännetään vasemmalle V-kirjaimen päälle ja näin lukko aukeaa. Kätevää ja innovatiivista. Eikö olekin upea? Tästä kokoelmasta todella näkee että uudet tuulet puhaltavat Louis Vuittonin muotitalossa kun Nicholas Ghesquière on nyt luonut toisen oman kokoelmansa. Hänen tyylinsä on persoonallinen ja etenkin laukut ovat ihastuttavia ja poikkeavat Marc Jacobsin tyylistä mutta hyvällä tavalla.

Paris Fashion Week

Last month was the season for all fashion weeks and my favorite is Paris Fashion Week, which ends it all.  All my favorite designers are represented there; Chanel, LV, Dior, Hermès, Givenchy, Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Moncler you name it. I've been meaning to post this earlier but better later than never right. I watched some of the shows live and for example Louis Vuitton and Hermès focused a lot on white and different shades of beige. This was the first LV collection not designed by Marc Jacobs and it showed, but it wasn't bad either. In the Hermès fashion show there were a lot of oversized coats. I know they've had their fair share of being fashionable but I've never been intrigued about wearing one. Here are my favorite fashion shows for FallWinter 14/15.

Viime kuussa oli taas muotiviikkojen aikaa. Suosikkini, Pariisin muotiviikko lopettaa tämän sarjan. Kaikkia suosikkidesignereitani on siellä esillä; Chanel, LV, Dior, Hermès, Givenchy, Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Moncler ja niin edespäin. Minun on pitänyt postata tämä jo aiemmin mutta parempi myöhään kuin ei milloinkaan. Seurasin joitakin näytöksiä livenä ja esimerkiksi LV ja Hermès keskittyivät paljon valkoiseen ja beigen eri sävyihin. Tämä oli ensimmäinen kokoelma jota Marc Jacob ei ollut suunnitellut LVlle ja sen huomasi, mutta ei se huonokaan ollut. Hermèsin näytöksessä oli paljon ylisuuria takkeja. Ne ovat saaneet osansa trendeissä siellä ja täällä mutta itseäni ne eivät koskaan ole kiehtoneet. Tässä ovat SyysTalvi 14/15 suosikkini. 

Wishlist Gucci boots

I visited one of my favorite stores a while back and saw the most gorgeous pair of boots ever. I was mostly just window shopping that day so I wasn't gonna buy anything and even if the SA was very nice and helpful I still ended up leaving the boots at the store to think about them for a while. But then when they called me a few days later about some scarves I was interested in I asked about the boots and they were sold! :/ But they are a classic model so most likely they should have some more of them later. What do you think? The style is really equestrian. Aren't they just gorgeous? 

Jonkin aikaa sitten kävin yhdessä lempikaupoistani. Siellä rakastuin, näin mitä ihanimmat saappaat. Olin pääasiassa ikkunaostoksilla joten tarkoitus ei ollut ostaa mitään, vaikka myyjä olikin mukava ja auttavainen, joten buutsit jäivät kauppaan. Muutama päivä myöhemmin sain soiton kaupasta kyselemieni huivien takia ja kysyin samalla saappaista. Ne oli myyty pois! :/ Se on tosin klassinen malli joten toivon että sitä tulisi kauppaan lisää myöhemmin. Mitä tykkäätte? Ne ovat aika heppatyyliset. Eivätkö ole ihanat?

Golden Globes 2014

The award season has started. I didn't have the opportunity to watch the Golden Globes this year, but I've heard a lot of funny things happened. Even if the movies are celebrated, in the end everyone is waiting to see what the celebrities wear on the red carpet. Here are some of my favorites.

Gaalakausi on alkanut. Minulla ei ollut mahdollisuutta katsoa Golden Globes-gaalaa tänä vuonna, mutta  olen kuullut että siellä sattui ja tapahtui. Vaikka siellä juhlitaan elokuvia, kaikki kuitenkin odottavat mitä tähdillä on päällän punaisella matolla. Tässä omia suosikkejani.

LV Spring/Summer 2014 ad campaign

Louis Vuitton has launched the photos of the upcoming Spring/Summer 2014 campaign. The photos will be officially out in the magazines next year. The campaign is done in honor of Marc Jacobs. I think Gisele looks particularly stunning. Who's your favorite?

Louis Vuittonilta on tullut kuvat tulevan Kevät/Kesä 2014 kampanjasta. Kuvat tulevat virallisesti lehtiin ensi vuonna. Kampanja on toteutettu Marc Jacobsin kunniaksi. Minusta Gisele on erityisen tyrmäävä. Kuka on suosikkisi?

The Suspects Wore Louboutins

I recently read an article about Christian Louboutin shoes in a women's magazine and somehow I ended up watching the movie Bling Ring and all that made me write this post. Louboutins or "Loubies" for short are probably the most well-known and desired shoes in the world. The red soles are undeniably recognizable. No wonder Louboutins were chosen as the sexiest shoes in the world last year. Everyone wants a pair. It's a status symbol you could say.

So what do people do to get these shoes? That's what the movie Bling Ring (directed by Sofia Coppola) is about. A group of Valley teenagers in LA are so obsessed with celebrities and their possessions that they start robbing their favorite celebs. Their favorite target is Paris Hilton, at whose house they go "shopping" as they call it several times even. They grab a bag or a suitcase in the closet and start filling it with jewels, clothes, shoes, you name it. And usually they find a stack of money too. Especially at Paris Hilton's closet they saw tons and tons of Louboutin shoes. So why not steal a few pairs, she won't notice right? Then things got out of hand and they started robbing other celebs such as Audrina Patridge, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr, and the Bling Ring-leader's favorite celeb, Lindsay Lohan. They got caught on some surveillance tapes and together with those and some tips the police got a lead. Anyone of you seen the movie? It's based on real events. 

These kids didn't think they were doing anything wrong until they got caught and sentenced with stealing stuff altogether worth about $3 million. They always checked the address in advance and made sure the celebrity is out of town by checking news online. What makes it scary is that they just walked into these houses without anyone noticing. The fancy lifestyle and nice things was so important to them they were ready to steal the things. The movie is made based on an article from Vanity Fair called The Suspects Wore Louboutins. If you wanna read it there's a link, it's rather fascinating.  I just finished reading it myself. What's your opinion on the issue?

Luin hiljattain artikkelin Christian Louboutin kengistä eräästä naistenlehdestä, ja jotenkin päädyin katsomaan elokuvan Bling Ring ja kirjoittamaan tämän postauksen. Louboutinit tai "Loubiet" ovat varmaankin maailman tunnetuimmat ja halutuimmat kengät. Punaiset pohjat tunnistaa kieltämättä missä vain. Ei ihme että Louboutinit valittiin viime vuoden seksikkäimmiksi kengiksi. Kaikki haluavat sellaiset. Voisi sanoa että kengät ovat statussymboli. 

Mitä ihmiset sitten tekevät saadakseen tällaiset kengät? Siitä elokuva Bling Ring (ohjaaja Sofia Coppola) kertoo. Ryhmälle Valley teinejä Los Angelesista julkkikset ja heidän omaisuutensa ovat niin syvä pakkomielle, että he alkavat varastaa tavaraa lempijulkkiksiltaan. Heidän suosikkikohteensa on Paris Hilton, jonka kotona he käyvät "shoppailemassa" kuten he asiasta puhuvat, useita kertoja. He etsivät vaatekaapissa ollessaan laukun tai matkalaukun ja alkavat täyttää sitä koruilla, vaatteilla, kengillä, millä vaan. Ja usein löytyy myös tukku rahaa jostain. Varsinkin Paris Hiltonin vaatekaappi on täynnä Louboutin kenkiä, joten eihän hän varmaan huomaa jos nappaa mukaansa muutaman parin eihän? Sitten asiat riistäytyvät käsistä ja he alkavat ryöstää muita julkimoita kuten Audrina Patridge, Orlando Bloom ja Miranda Kerr, sekä Bling Ring-ryhmän "pomon" suosikki Lindsay Lohan. He jäävät kiinni turvakameralle ja yhdessä poliisin saamien vinkkien kanssa heidän kannoilleen päästään. Onko kukaan teistä nähnyt kyseistä elokuvaa? Se perustuu tositapahtumiin.

Nämä nuoret eivät uskoneet tehneensä mitään väärää ennen kuin jäivät kiinni ja heidät tuomittiin varastettuaan tavaraa yhteensä noin 3 miljoonan dollarin edestä. Ennen keikkaa he aina tarkistivat julkkiksen osoitteen netistä ja seurasivat viihdeuutisia selvittääkseen koska he ovat poissa kaupungista. Pelottavaa tästä tekee sen että he vain kävelivät sisään näihin taloihin ilman että kukaan huomasi. Elokuva perustuu Vanity Fair-artikkeliin The Suspects Wore Louboutins. Peep dress

This is the season for celebration. It's almost Christmas so who wouldn't like to dress up and go out and forget about the terrible weather outside. I found the cutest dress today, Peep dress by Vila. I bought it for a specific purpose. I'm not gonna tell you more about it yet, since it's a bit unsure so I don't wanna jinx it but there might be a little surprise coming up. I like the dress cause well it's black and the sequins add a nice little detail. And it matches nicely the shoes. You can find the dress at Bubbleroom here.

Tämä on juhlan aikaa. On melkein joulu ja kukapa ei haluaisi laittautua ja lähteä juhlimaan ja unohtaa kamalan sään hetkeksi. Löysin ihanan mekon tänään, Vilan Peep mekko. Ostin sen itse asiassa  tiettyä tarkoitusta varten. En paljasta vielä enempää, sillä asiat ovat vielä hieman epävarmoja enkä halua huonoa onnea asian suhteen ennen kuin kaikki on selvää, mutta pieni yllätys on tulossa jos kaikki selviää. Pidän mekosta koska se on musta (aivan kuin niitä ei olisi tarpeeksi) ja paljetit ovat kiva pieni yksityiskohta. Ja se sopii aika hyvin kenkien kanssa yhteen.
