Restaurant Olo is a Michelin star restaurant in Helsinki. It was also chosen as the best restaurant in Finland in 2012 by the 50 Best Finnish Restaurants. The ingredients are of high quality and the flavors describe well Scandinavia. I spent the entire day yesterday at a Family company day-seminar organized by the Family Companies' Union. I love this sort of networking events where you connect with new people and meet old friends. Besides all speeches and workshops we also had a family company case performed by Finnish actors, which really resembled what the situation really is in some family companies and many people could relate to it and the Peter Fazer award was given to the family company of the year, Kemppi Oy. All in all I'm satisfied with the day and before enjoying some bubbly the CEO of the union Matti Vanhanen (former Prime Minister) finished up with his speech.
I headed home for a quick wardrobe change before making my way to the restaurant. There was some mingling going on before dinner and the atmosphere was definitely just as relaxed as it was earlier in the day. As we were quite many we waited for some time to get food but it was worth the wait. I can say I especially loved the dessert. It was some kind of mouser with sea bucktorn sorbet or such on top. It was divine and the wines and the cloudberry liqueur (I think) completed the dinner perfectly.
Then it was time for the old folks to go home and us youngsters to head out to talk a bit more. Yeah I know it was a Tuesday night so there weren't many people besides us at Teatteri. But it's the company that counts right. So if you have been thinking about dining at restaurant Olo do it I can warmly recommend.
Ravintola Olo on Michelin tähden omaava huippuravintola Helsingissä. Vuonna 2012 Suomen 50 Parasta Ravintolaa valitsi sen myös Suomen ykkösravintolaksi. Raaka-aineet ovat huippuluokkaa ja makumatka vie Skandinaviaan. Vietin koko eilispäivän Perheyritysten Liiton järjestämässä jokavuotisessa Perheyritystapahtumassa. Rakastan tällaisia tapahtumia jossa voi tutustua uusiin ihmisiin ja samalla törmätä vanhoihini tuttuihin ja kaikilla on jotain yhteistä; perheyritys. Puheiden ja workshoppien lisäksi joukko suomalaisia näyttelijöitä esitti casemuotoisesti perheyritystä josta kyllä tunnisti ne tällaisia firmoja symbolisoivat seikat. Peter Fazer-palkinnon ja Vuoden Perheyritys-tittelin sai Kemppi Oy. Teemana tapahtumassa oli luottamus ja sitä käsiteltiin eri näkökulmista. Kaikenkaikkiaan olen tyytyväinen päivään ja ennen kuin pääsimme nauttimaan kuplivaa summasi liiton toimitusjohtaja Matti Vanhanen yhteen päivän tärkeimmät tapahtumat.
Käytyäni kotona pikaisella vaatteidenvaihdolla suuntasin ravintola Oloon. Alkuilta kului seurustellessa ja tunnelma oli vähintäänkin yhtä rento kuin päivällä. Porukan koon huomioon ottaen jouduimme hetken odottamaan ruokaa mutta se oli kyllä sen arvoista. Listalta löytyi siikaa, karitsaa sekä kruununa pohjalla jälkiruokana jonkinlainen mousse jossa päällä tyrnisorbettia. Se oli aivan taivaallista ja illallisen täydensi hyvät viinit ja lakkalikööri (näin olettaisin).
Vanhusten lähtiessä kotiin suuntasi nuoriso vielä jatkoille. Kyllä eihän tiistai mikään vilkkaimmasta päästä ole joten saimme olla lähes yksin Teatterissa. Mutta seurahan ratkaisee vai mitä. Jos siis mietit illallista Olossa voin lämpimästi suositella, et tule pettymään.
