BodyPump 85

Oh my gosh! That's what the well-pumped instructor kept repeating the entire workout. And I have to say I agree with him. The new releases at my gym are out now. If you really wanna get in shape for the upcoming summer you really gotta try the new BodyPump 85. It will literally fire up your muscles. Already during the second track (squats) I could feel the sweat dripping listening to Antidote by Swedish House Mafia. But then again the feeling after you're done is just so amazing.

For those of you who don't know, BodyPump is a Les Mills workout, a barbell class with effective choreography and chart-topping music that changes every three months, so you never get bored. Listen to (the remixes of) your favourite songs and pump away. You work each muscle group during one track and during one class you will do up to 800 reps, whenever do you do that at the gym in one hour?

BODYPUMP 85 tracklist
1. Heartbreak On Hold – Alexandra Burke
2. Antidote – Swedish House Mafia vs. Knife Party
3. Uprising – Muse
4. The Rhythm Of The Night (Ryan T. & Rick M. Radio Edit) – Cascada
5. Let It Roll – Flo Rida
6. Blow Me (One Last Kiss) (Clean Radio Edit) – P!nk
7. Spectrum – Loyal Crown
8. This Is How We Rock! (Hardforze H.A.R.D Remix Edit) – Brooklyn Bounce
9. One More Night – Eastern Clause
10. Forever – Six60
Alt 4. Undefeated (Basslouder Remix Edit) – Ruff Cash

Another favourite of mine is BodyCombat, which is a martial arts inspired fitness class with lots of kicks and punches. "Release your inner warrior" that's what they say. It's just so liberating. Les Mills is a former athlete from New Zealand who came up with this wonderful concept and there has just come out more classes over the years. I've done BodyPump for example for almost 10 years now (sometimes a little on-off though) but I just love it and the whole Les Mills family of classes. The main club is in Auckland where also the program directors are and you can actually train with them and possibly participate in the shootings of the new releases. If I ever went to that part of the world I would definitely want to do that, real tough workouts with the best of the best.
